Ayaka Takaki

Ayaka joined Martin Ashley Architects in May 2026 and is an accredited Specialist Conservation Architect (SCA) and Architect Accredited in Building Conservation (AABC). She specialises in the repair and conservation of historic and listed buildings, with a strong understanding of the technical, regulatory and logistical complexities involved.
She has extensive experience managing projects from inception through to completion, coordinating stakeholders and end users to ensure successful delivery. Her portfolio includes work on a number of Grade I and Grade II* buildings, as well as high-end residential refurbishment projects within Conservation Areas.
Ayaka has a particular interest in traditional building techniques and craftsmanship, and values close collaboration with skilled specialists to achieve high-quality outcomes.
She is an active member of the Traditional Paint Forum and the ICON Historic Interiors Group, reflecting her interest in historic interiors and stone conservation. She also serves as an assessor on the RIBA Conservation Register Assessment Panel.
