Discover Greenwich Tudor Exhibit.

Martin Ashley Architects assisted the Greenwich Foundation with Tudor-themed displays and exhibits in the Tudor section of the Discover Greenwich Visitor Centre. In collaboration with specialist manufacturers MAA re-created a section of the Tudor Chapel glazed tile floor and walling based on archaeological discoveries. Also constructed a fictive ‘Tudor window’ incorporating archaeological fragments salvaged from excavations with new stonework and new stained glass and ferramenta provided by specialists. Also created a wall-hung display of other stone artefacts discovered during archaeological excavations of the Tudor remains. Additionally MAA produced a sketched hypothetical interior view of how Henry VIIth’s chapel might have appeared, based on our conservation work at Hampton Court Chapel and other known Chapel interiors.
