Martin Ashley, who led the project as Surveyor of the Fabric, collected the award alongside other members of the project team at a ceremony on 16 May. The project was also runner up as the South East Project of the Year.

Competition in the building conservation category was particularly tight, with the Canons’ Cloister shortlisted alongside an impressive selection of schemes elsewhere including Stowe School and the Ashmolean Museum. The project now goes forward to the national RICS Awards in October.
