Martin Ashley’s retirement as Surveyor of the Fabric was marked at a Farewell Evensong service on Monday 12th May at St George’s Chapel, with a drinks reception following in the cloister.

The beautiful Evensong marked an end to Martin’s twenty-five year tenure as Surveyor of the Fabric at St George’s.

The team at Martin Ashley attended the very moving service in the Chapel where Martin and his wife Jenny were honoured by the Dean of the College, the Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth.

A small drinks reception was held in the Chapel cloister with speeches and a catch up with friends and colleagues, celebrating the range of projects Martin has meticulously carried out across the Chapel over the years.

Martin was delighted to accept appointment as an Honorary Member of College by the Dean & Canons.
