Luisa graduated in Architecture from the UPB University (qualifications equivalent to part 2 ARB/RIBA) in Colombia in 1995. Prior to moving to England, Luisa worked for several firms as a project architect before setting up her own practice in Colombia, specialising in providing planning advice and domestic architecture design.

Once in England, she started working as a designer in a private practice based in Kingston upon Thames working on several projects including loft and country house conversions and extensions in West London. She was part of a team short listed for a social housing competition for the Brook Estate project in West Ham. She also worked for MRDA where projects included Truro Cathedral, The Priory Church of St. John, London, and a number of smaller regional churches.  In 2005, she joined MAA and worked on major projects including Hampton Court Palace, Windsor Castle, Bushy Park, and Whitstable Castle and was the project architect for a New Nursery building in Canterbury.

In 2010, Luisa moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she worked as a freelancer for ThiiinkDesign on a domestic project in Richmond upon Thames; and for Foster+Partners developing the furniture specification and the model for a tower being built in Riyadh. Afterwards, she joined the Architectural Department at Dar Al Uloom University where she worked as a lecturer for Comprehensive Design Studio I (Year 4 students).

Moving back to UK in July 2016, she re-joined MAA and has been supporting Martin Ashley on various projects including Windsor Castle, Old Royal Naval College and developing their new website.
