The Autumn 2015 issue of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings magazine featured the creation of a series of new grotesque sculptures at St George’s Chapel, which has been overseen by Martin Ashley as Surveyor of the Fabric. This is an outstanding showcase of contemporary stone carving and design, created by students at the City and Guilds of London Art School, and demonstrating the Dean and Canons of Windor’s far-sighted approach to their stewardship of St George’s Chapel.
