This October Martin Ashley will be speaking at Columbia University’s prestigious Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation in New York.

Centering around a philosophical approach to building conservation in Britain, Martin’s lecture will look at cycles of preservation and change that all sites and structures have undergone due to social, cultural, political, and economic circumstances through the centuries. Martin will consider our place in that ongoing cycle of change, and the importance of using the enduring crafts, design excellence, and sustainable building fabric so as to leave a worthy legacy for future generations.
